PREPARATION & APPLICATION*
- Surfaces to receive dB3 should be clean and dry
- Installers should utilize acoustical sealant, tape, sound rated putty and sound isolation materials to preserve acoustical integrity; do not use dB3 within two feet of light fixture
- Install vertically so seams fall on studs
- Attach at the top only with screws and staples; dB3 will be secured permanently when finished wall is fastened
- dB3 may be used on existing finished walls and covered with another layer of drywall
- dB materials can be stiff and less pliable at low temperatures; they are best installed at or above room temperature

NOISE BARRIER
dB3 is designed to airborne noises like voices, music, and television. It is a flexible mass material that reduces noise vibrations by turning them into heat. It works best when installed in a wall or ceiling assembly where it can vibrate freely.

MOISTURE CONTROL
dB3 is considered an impermeable material as it allows trace amounts of water transmission. The perm rating is less than .004. A material is considered impermeable with a perm rating of .1 perm or less.

ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
dB3 is a combination of calcium carbonate to create mass and Polyolefin elastomer to bind the calcium particles into a flexible sheet. Calcium is crushed limestone and polyolefin elastomer (POE) is synthetic rubber.
Polyolefin is BPA-free, one of the safest types of plastic for food products, and more, so you can feel good about dB3 products for your home or business.
FLEXIBLE
Polyolefin used in many products that require flexibility like catheter tubing and connectors, footwear, toys, milk carton coatings, food packaging, etc.
This ensures that the dB3 products are not only flexible enough to be effective, but long-lasting as well.
VERSATILE
dB3 has uses other than wall and ceiling noise blocking. It can be used to wrap drain pipes and heat ducts. It is used to wrap large piping in manufacturing plants. It can be hung like a curtain around noisy mechanical equipment to block the noise.
AMERICAN MADE
dB3 components including the calcium carbonate and the Polyolefin elastomer are mined and manufactured in the US. The finished product is made in our facility in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
